GNSS for agricultural mapping and field reference points
Agricultural mapping benefits from consistent references across boundaries, imagery and field observations.
Choose accuracy for the actual decision
A field inventory, crop-observation map and precision layout task can require different positioning performance. Define the deliverable before choosing a receiver mode. Coordinate consistency across dates may matter as much as a single position, particularly when comparing observations with imagery or existing farm records.

Make repeat visits reproducible
Use stable reference information, consistent feature descriptions and a documented correction source. Record whether each point represents a boundary marker, sample location or another field feature. Do not infer a legal boundary or crop response from positioning alone; retain the separate evidence the project requires.

Practical checklist
- Define the positioning need for each field task.
- Use consistent references across repeat visits.
- Keep feature meaning and supporting evidence with coordinates.
Plan your GNSS setup
Compare the EQ10 and EQ20 receiver specifications, then discuss the configuration and support your project needs.
