Preparing GNSS data for PPK processing

Post-processing needs compatible rover and reference observations that overlap in time.

Preparing GNSS data for PPK processing

Collect the information processing cannot invent

Confirm raw observation logging before field work and identify the intended reference source. The recorded interval, observation period and supported signals must suit the processing workflow. Missing overlap, wrong antenna metadata or an incomplete recording can prevent recovery even when a file exists on the receiver.

Review inputs before accepting outputs

Check timestamps, antenna models, heights, reference coordinates and gaps before processing. Inspect solution diagnostics and independent control after the run. Successful software completion is a processing event, not an independent statement that all points or trajectory epochs meet the required uncertainty.

Practical checklist

Practical checklist

  1. Confirm logging and reference overlap before collection.
  2. Review metadata, time systems and data gaps.
  3. Validate processed results against independent control.
